National Primitive Baptist Church Hymn’s

“Am I Born to Die”

Am I born to die?

            To lay this body down

And must my trembling spirit fly

Into a world unknown?

Waked by the trumpet’s sound,

I from my grave must rise,

To see the Judge with glory crowned,

            And view the flaming skies,

“Father, I Stretch My Hands to Thee”

Father, I stretch my hands to thee,

No other help I know,

If Thou withdraw thyself from me,

Ah! Whither shall I go?

“Firmly I Stand on Zion’s Hill”

Firmly I stand on Zion’s hill,

And view my starry crown;

No power on earth my hope can shake,

Nor hell can pull me down

“Must Jesus Bear the Cross Alone”

Must Jesus Bear The Cross Alone,

And all the world go free?

No: there’s across for every one,

And there’s across for me.

How happy are the saints above,

Who once went sorrowing here!

“Jordan’s Stormy Banks, I Stand”

Jordan’s Stormy Banks I Stand

            And cast a wishful eye

To Canaan’s fair and happy land

Where my possessions lie.

“The Evening Sun Is Almost Down”

The evening sun is almost down.

            My race is almost run.

Before this time another year.

            I maybe dead and gone

I’ll let you know be for I go.

            What will become of me.

In some lonesome grave,

            My spirit gone on high.

” Do Lord Show Me the Way”

Oh Lord

Do Lord show me the way and guide me on the road.

Never let me go astray till I get home to God.
